Milk kefir is the product of fermentation of milk. Milk kefir is rich in bacteria that can colonize the gastrointestinal tract. Among those bacteria is Lactobacillus Kefiri, which helps defend the body from harmful bacteria like salmonella and E. Coli. It also contains a polysaccharide called Kefiran a compound only found in kefir. This is a powerful ally against candida overgrowth.
Milk kefir also contains vitamin K2 that aids in the absorption of calcium and vitamin D.
